20th December 2010 Skiing: Samoens-France Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: clouldy Max Speed: Distance Covered: Wake early and walk into town to pick up skies/snowboard from waxing !!! then breakfast and pack picnic (well done Rob and Hannah)and walk to the bubble for midday :) The nice thing about here is instead of half day passes you can buy 4 hour blocks :) There are still several lifts closed :( but the Chariande Express was open so we could get over to Flaine.We headed straight to the Tete Des Saix where the snow was very thin due to yesterdays strong winds losing abit of our new wax :( It was still breezy at the top but the tourmaline blue into Flaine was great !!! Also the run into Les Mollets was very pretty through the trees and we stopped here for our picnic lunch and watched the fantastic huskies being prepared for there sledge rides :) There is some great offpiste skiing to be had at Les Carroz but need some fresh snow !!! We finished the day on the long fast run into Morrillon and did it three times and I only wiped out once !!!!! We then had to catch the ski bus back to Samoens another 8 euros on cake :) We then had a walk into Samoens old town square and again there was loads going on,ice carving,santa,stalls and games and rides for the kids and of course mulled wine :) Then to finish the day cake followed by bath then lasagne (top meal Mag) then play intro cd game :) might be some snow tomorrow !!! and hopefully some sunshine soon !!!! |
